The General Rule of Blackjack
Blackjack or popular by its street name "Twenty One" is one of the exciting pastimes in the planet. Furthermore, to fully enjoy this card game, we must look and examine the general rules of blackjack.
Perhaps, you are wondering why blackjack is called "Twenty One." It is because the first rule in winning a blackjack game is to have that magic number of 21. To get that so-called magic number, we accumulate the value of each card dealt to us. However, don't lose hope right away if you fall short that magic number.
For example, if we get ten of clubs and a seven of hearts our hand, (which refers to our cards) has a total of 17, it is still a good card total as long as our hand is greater than of the dealer. If the dealer goes beyond 21, what will happen to our chances of winning blackjack? The answer is very high regardless how low our card total will be.
In blackjack, a hand whose total is greater than the magic number is called a bust. Furthermore, being busted is synonymous with losing our bets. In case of a tie or as the blackjack players called it as a push neither the player nor the banker loses. However, different casinos develop their own blackjack rules. So it is highly recommended to observe first before plunging into the blackjack action.
As a matter of fact different blackjack options for players vary from one casino to another. In traditional blackjack, the house (another term for casino) offers surrender as an alternative to their undecided players. Surrender means giving up on a particular blackjack round. Before when a player surrendered the casino only collected half of the wagered bet. Nowadays, we doubt if casinos still offer that because it diminishes house profit.
The next option available to a blackjack player is to make a hit or to get another card. Getting another card could either improve or worsen our card total. Let us just hope we get the total of 21, okay?
If we believe our card total is enough to beat the dealer then we no longer need to hit we simply stand.
Furthermore, let us remind you that certain hand gestures signals the dealer to do certain actions for you. For example, your finger scratches the back of your cards, this means you decided to make a hit. So be wary also bodily actions while playing blackjack.
